SLS provides services for those individuals currently living on their own and need the supports to maintain their lifestyle. Some of the services include:
  • Grocery shopping
  • Cooking and meal planning
  • Paying bills
  • Housekeeping
  • Grooming and hygiene
  • Budgeting
  • Applying for In Home Support Services (IHSS)
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
If you are ready to find your own apartment or housing, our ILS services can help.It can be challenging to find housing in the Los Angeles area. We are here to help assist you in:
  • Applying for low-income housing
  • Helping you to qualify
  • Setup utilities and move-in
  • Find roommates
  • Understanding tenant responsibilities
 
INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS (ILS) - Vendor No. PX0059

ILS services are for individuals who would like to learn how to be able to one day live on their own. Participant must not be living independently.

  • Using public transportation
  • Community and home safety
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Medical and dental assistance
  • Self Advocacy
  • Housekeeping training
  • Benefits assistance
  • Money management
  • Grooming and hygiene
  • Socialization and community resources
ILS vs. SLS SERVICES
Although much of the services provided in these programs are similar, there are distinctive differences between ILS and SLS services.
ILS SLS
  • Time limited training
  • Teaches participants to become more independent
  • Participant is not iving independently
  • Ongoing support
  • Supports participants in their independence
  • Participant has their own apartment or housing
All participants will have their own personal trainer that will work with them in their homes and community. All of our trainers must pass a background clearance and training which includes the following:
  • Department of Justice and FBI background investigations
  • Must have a driving record in good standing with the California DMV
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR

 

In addition, our staff participate in extensive trainings and have access to a wealth of information, resources and network of community partners who can assist our clients in meeting their needs.
